Income & Employment Verification
Contains basic information about a borrower’s job: employer name and address, job title (when available), employment status (active, inactive), most recent hire date and length of time with the employer. GSE compatible — accepted to meet the requirement regarding the use of third-party verifications in lieu of borrower provided documentation and eligible for Fannie Mae’s DU® validation service.
Contains basic employment information about a borrower’s job and payroll income: employer name and address, job title (when available), employment status (active, inactive), most recent hire date and length of time with the employer, as well as current year-to-date pay plus two years of payroll income. The income information can contain wages, bonuses, and commission. The Income Verification from The Work Number uses the same template as the Fannie Mae Form 1005. GSE compatible — accepted to meet the requirement regarding the use of third-party verifications in lieu of borrower provided documentation and eligible for Fannie Mae’s DU® validation service.
If a borrower’s information is not instantly available on The Work Number database, a team of verification specialists will manually complete the verification. We independently validate the employer’s phone number and location before making contact, and will then verbally obtain the borrower’s position, job title, job status (full time, part time, contractor, etc.) and probability of continued employment. If an income verification is being requested, we will verbally verify all of the above information with the employer and will obtain, in writing, the borrower’s income information. The Manual Verification of Employment and/or Income is eligible for Fannie Mae’s DU® validation service.
